Management Team
Elizabeth Kamstra, PE, President
Elizabeth Kamstra is President of Principal Consulting LLC. Kamstra has a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech, and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
Prior to her position at Principal Consulting LLC, Kamstra worked for DoD’s Defense Logistics Agency and the U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command. During her time at DLA Aviation, Kamstra was the Tech/Quality Manager for OEM Supplier Operations. In this role, she was responsible for managing the Tech/Quality Program for DLA Aviation’s Strategic Supplier Alliances. Kamstra also served as Lead Engineer for DLA Aviation’s Value Engineering Program. During her time as Lead Engineer, Kamstra was a recipient of the following awards: DoD FY 2015 Value Engineering Team Project Award for $15.6 Million in savings on alternate sourcing projects, and DoD’s FY 2016 Value Engineering Team Project award for $33 Million in savings on reverse engineering and expanded competition projects. Prior to her time at DLA Aviation, Elizabeth worked for the U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command as a Design Engineer, Process Engineer, and Project Engineer in Washington, DC and NASSCO Shipyard San Diego, CA.
Robert Workman, PE, Vice President
Robert Workman is Vice President of Principal Consulting LLC. Workman has a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State, and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
Workman has 35 years of experience in all aspects of project, process, and reliability/maintenance engineering including black belt certification in six sigma continuous improvement tools in the private sector. Prior to his position at Principal Consulting LLC, Workman worked for Honeywell International as a Senior Process Engineer. In this role, Workman led a team to develop plant equipment for next generation high-performance ballistic fiber. Workman has extensive experiences in the following fields: root cause failure analysis, predictive equipment condition monitoring, equipment life cycle analysis, designing and conducting various training programs in SAP, use of vibration analysis, oil analysis, eddy current, infrared, and ultrasonic inspection tools on all types of manufacturing equipment including centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, mechanical seals, blowers, compressors, plastic extruders, power transmission equipment, HVAC systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, boiler control systems, evaporative purification columns, and the implementation of energy reduction projects. Workman also has experience in Capital Project Engineering in the establishment of plant capital needs, development of new capital cost estimates, writing corporate capital appropriation requests, establishment of equipment design specifications, procurement of materials, construction, and capital project start up and verification of project payback expectations.
